Charity Bike Ride
As many of our patients will know, Dr Ray Mullen is a keen cyclist. Usually this is something he does for his own health and wellbeing, but this month he will be taking to the road to raise funds for the Children’s Cancer Institute – by cycling all the way to Cairns!
Why would you ride a bike from Townsville to Cairns?
Why would you challenge yourself physically and emotionally to complete such a trip without the comfort of a car , air conditioning or a short flight?
Because fundraising for children’s cancer research and treatments that could make a difference for parents and those children affected, along with my passion for exercise and riding, gives me the opportunity to contribute to such a great cause.
The Townsville to Cairns Bike Ride raises money for the Children’s Cancer Institute through individual sponsorship of this three day, 358km cycle. Participants ride over 100km a day, with an end goal of raising money and awareness for childhood cancer research. Since 1999 the ride has raised over $5.5 million for research with over $500,000 raised in 2016.
Please donate – large or small, it is the intention and the research that will help change peoples’ lives. You can sponsor me online or at the practice.
I’m grateful for all the support and encouragement I’ve received so far.
